Instructors at the Registered Level have shown familiarity with IEW®'s Structure and Style® method. Instructors at the Certified Level have demonstrated competence in teaching IEW's unique methodology.
Only IEW Accredited Instructors are allowed to make use of the registered trademarks “Institute for Excellence in Writing,” “IEW,” and “Structure and Style” in advertising their classes. By restricting the use of these trademarked terms, IEW can better ensure the integrity of its method and assist parents in finding a formally trained writing teacher.
IEW evaluates the competency of its Accredited Instructors in terms of their individual mastery of the IEW teaching methodology. IEW warrants only its own intellectual property and methodology for teaching writing with Structure and Style. IEW makes no warranty, expressed or implied, regarding the individual Accredited Instructor’s personality, moral character, work history, legal history, or credit history.
