I began using IEW when teaching in a charter school in 2007. Although I had already taught for five years, it was the first resource I found that effectively taught writing. After leaving the classroom I continued tutoring students from the school in their IEW assignments. I now homeschool my own children and use the Structure and Style program along with Fix-It Grammar with them. I enjoy helping students break down the writing process into something that is manageable, not overwhelming and frustrating.
